We swipe, we scroll,
We rot , we hold
The source of all that
Is right and wrong..

Often we see
Seldom we check,
If what seen
Is what is correct,
If what is shown
Can apply to all,
If what you’re told
Is for you or not.

We swipe, we scroll,
We forget our goal
Distracted, engrossed
In a world not our own.

William James’ words ring true,
Being wise is knowing
what not to look.
Productivity is not the product
When you’re busy being busy,
Before you know it two minutes
Has become thirty.
Time claimed itself not plenty.

We swipe, we scroll,
We sell our soul
To our screen, the source
Of all right and wrong.

Originality plagiarized,
Misinformation prevails,
Privacy is compromised,
Language is uncivilized,
People are sexualized,
Our poor eyes!
We’re being hypnotized
Into thinking this is fine.

We swipe, we scroll,
But to life is there not
Much more than
Knowing it all?
