Where Peace Blossoms – by Pranavi Jogdand, India

This heartfelt poem is written by a 10 year old. In her tender words, she contrasts the peace she feels in her classroom with the violence and anger she sees in the larger world. Through her simple yet profound words, she reminds us of the universal yearning for kindness, care, and understanding. What makes her poem even more powerful is the dream she carries beyond her verses—to grow up and become a doctor, offering free treatment to those who cannot afford it. At Poets & Peace, we believe children like Pranavi are not just writers of poems, but keepers of hope. Her words are a gentle call to all of us: to nurture peace in our own spaces, and to ensure that the world outside reflects the harmony children so naturally create among themselves.

Where Peace Blossoms

In my class, there is so much peace,
That atmosphere is bliss.
But in the world outside, peace is rare,
Anger and hatred everywhere.

I pray to god to keep peace in the world,
I feel so scared when swords are twirled.
I wish for a world with kindness and care,
Where love and peace are not rare.

I wish for a world where people smile,
Where talking to each other is worthwhile.
I wish the world could learn to lend a hand,
The way my classmates help and understand.

I wish for a world where people feel sorry and thanks,
Peace will blossom across the land.
